Nordson Announces Leadership Promotions

Promotions Demonstrate Depth of Leadership Team and Bode Well for Continued Growth


Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq: NDSN) today announced the following promotions within its global leadership team.  
 

John Byers has been promoted to Chief Information Officer with global responsibility for leveraging information technology to support Nordson’s growth and performance goals.   Byers has served in a wide variety of leadership capacities in several functions since joining Nordson in 1994.  As President of Nordson ASYMTEK since 2006, Byers was responsible for driving strong growth and improved profitability as the business was repeatedly recognized for innovation and customer service.  Prior to his leadership of Nordson ASYMTEK, Byers held the positions of Director of Corporate Development, Director of Supply Chain Management, and Manager of the Electronics Business Group, the precursor to today’s Advanced Technology systems segment.  He holds an M.B.A. from Indiana University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.   

Peter Bierhuis has been promoted to President of Nordson ASYMTEK, succeeding Byers.  Since 1999, Bierhuis has served as President of Nordson MARCH, during which time he drove the business to significant global expansion and its current position as the industry leader in plasma processing technology and systems.  Bierhuis joined Nordson in 1980 and prior to leading Nordson MARCH held several important sales and marketing leadership roles within Nordson’s Adhesive Dispensing Systems segment.  He holds an M.B.A. from the University of Georgia and a B.B.A. from Nijenrode in the Netherlands.

James Getty has been promoted to President of Nordson MARCH, succeeding Bierhuis. Getty most recently served as Nordson MARCH’s Vice President of Applications and Business Development.  Since joining Nordson in 2000, he has been responsible for the development and introduction of numerous products and the continued penetration of the printed circuit board, semiconductor and life sciences markets. He holds a B.S. in Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of California at Davis.

Phil Vere has been promoted to President of Nordson DAGE.  Vere joined Nordson DAGE in 2007 and most recently served as the organization’s Managing Director for Bond Testers.    Under his guidance, Nordson DAGE expanded its industry leading position in bond testers for the printed circuit board assembly and semiconductor industries while earning multiple awards for technology and innovation.  Vere has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Bath.   He succeeds Steven Kew, who has decided to pursue other interests after leading Nordson DAGE since 2008.  

“These promotions demonstrate the depth of our leadership team and bode well for the continued profitable growth of Nordson worldwide,” said John Keane, Corporate Officer and Senior Vice President of Nordson’s Advanced Technology Systems segment.  Bierhuis, Getty and Vere will report to Keane.  Byers will report to Corporate Officer and Vice President Shelly Peet.
